Domestic Water Bores
In recent weeks, J&S Drilling have successfully delivered several water bores for domestic clients in Central Queensland. Due to postponing of other projects from weather related delays, and in the interest of maintaining rig utilisation, the team at J&S Drilling proactively scheduled, coordinated and mobilised to the respective properties.
Given the favourable geological conditions in most locations, rotary air and down the hole hammer drilling techniques were primarily used to identify aquifers and water strikes. In some bore locations, and where ground conditions were less favourable, the team identified the need to change over to mud drilling techniques. J&S Drillings ability to seamlessly adapt drilling methods to suit ground conditions, and to facilitate successful water bore installations, highlights their ability to deliver successful outcomes for all clients.
All water bores were drilled and installed by highly capable and licenced water well drillers, in accordance with the Minimum Construction Standards for Water Bores in Australia (Edition 4) and supported by highly skilled field personnel.
To deliver the water bores, J&S Drilling utilised a Fraste FS400 drill rig, mounted on an 8×8 carrier, capable of tackling challenging terrain. The drilling operations were supported with the following equipment:
- 8×4 MAN Water Truck – 8000L water capacity
- 4×4 Hino Support Truck – 600L diesel capacity
- Ingersoll Rand 350psi/1070cfm air compressor
